Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

Cloudy bronze colour. Moderately hoppy aroma, though the hops aren’t very lively, their aroma seems muted, flat and wet if that makes sense. Like the aroma, hop flavours are not well defined they tend to wallow in sweet malt and slowly peter out into a spicy hop finish. I suspect the bottle I tried was not the freshest, but it didn’t really show signs of past glory. Unlike most other Deschutes beers, this one did not really impress me.

Normal IPA, nothing outstanding. Medium dark golden Color with a decent head, low carbonation. The flavor is there but if you want serving outstanding go with their obsidian stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Yard House Waikiki. Pours a mild copper colour. Grassy hop aroma. Flavour has lots of resinous and earthy notes.

As much as I love IPA’s, after awhile it gets a little difficult to distinguish one from another. This was a good IPA. I would drink it again. There was really nothing that made this IPA stand out from the thousands of other IPA’s out there. It did what an IPA is supposed to do and did it quite well. Familiar look, familiar nose, familiar taste....

On tap. Darker coppery red pour. Hoppy citrus aroma with a bit of resin and malty cereal notes. Medium bodied, freshly hopped flavour and some citrus goodness. Very good.

Translucent copper orange. Small white head that quickly dissipates. Wonderful aroma containing notes of malt, hops, citrus, various other dried fruits, caramel, and flowers. Mid bodied. Initial taste is a extremely smooth combination of malt and caramel finishing with a robust flavour of hops, citrus, and flowers. Quite good.

Bottle. Pours amber with a dense white head. Aroma of pine, biscuit, caramel and grapefruit. Flavor was hoppy sweet & bitter with pine, caramel, citrus, grapefruit and had a dry and bitter finish.

Pours clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky ivory head, good retention and excellent lacing. (4/5) Nose is pine resin, citrus, catty, caramel malt, mild onion. (6/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderately strong bitter. (6/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, building bitter finish. (3/5) Not my favourite implementation of starts-with-C hops. Too little bright citrus, too much mangy cat. Deschutes has done many better beers. (12/20)
