COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

12 ounce bottle. Aroma of citrus, pine caramel, and resin. The taste is similar with big American hops. The caramel malt sweetness detracts from this beer. Not bad, but Deschutes makers far better then this.

Color is light brown, slight tan head. Definitely a cereal smell with citrus notes. Lively mouth feel, malt notes up front and an apricot citrus dry finish on the palate. Easy drinking IPA. ---bhiner41 Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle bought in Portland by a friend who recently visited USA. Clear amber with a small creamy head. This is a balanced IPA, malt and hops in the aroma and taste. Grape, some orange and resin. The finish was bitter. Rather crisp mouthfeel. Descent stuff.

This is one IPA that’s not ashamed of being big and aggressive and I like it. It’s a gorgeous red color w/ a long lasting head. It’s nose is vaguely fruity and hoppy, good but not inspiring. When you taste it though, this sucker is huge. There’s just loads of hop bitterness and while there is a touch of malty sweetness it doesn’t come close to any sort of balance--and that’s a good thing! The bitterness clings to your tongue and begs you to take another sip. This is a dangerous one that you’ll want to suck down in volume in the hot summer son but will undoubtedly leave you w/ a headache after a couple hours sipping this and baking in the heat. Such is the life of a true beer geek. The ones of us who truly believe are willing to suffer for our love.

Nice malt accented bright citrus notes (tangerine) underlying grapefruit and lemon. App. Is beige head amber color spotty lacing. Taste is balanced malt forward iPa, back end bitterness, sweet citrus, bitter. Has a honeyed malt or caramel aspect as well. The deschutes house hop character is displayed well here.

Fairly clear or almost clear light amber.Short to no head, mild ring of froth. Nose has some hops more on the fruit like side, some floral, strong carmel sweetness, peppery minty pine. Taste is as malty sweet as it is hoppy/bitter.Both are strong but the sweetness may stand out a bit more.Slickish sweet, piney finish piney flavor.Grapefruity also. Not shure if I really like the malt profile on this one, maybe too caramelly.

Bottle. Pours a copper with some tan head and a blanketed soapy lace. Nose of caramel, roast, pine and some citrus. Solidly bitter finish with a sour cream and roast after taste.

Love those Cascade hops! Pours copper with a tan head that lasts, and laces nicely. Aroma is pine and citrus. Strong hop flavor, but that caramel malt sweetness is more present than in other IPAs I’ve tried. Does have a rather bitter, grapefruit-like finish, but to me it’s not unpleasant. My brother suggested chasing it with a shot of vodka. Don’t buy a lot of beer since I started homebrewing, but I’d buy it again.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2013 I?m a fan of IPAs and I had high hopes for this beer after enjoying Mirror Pond as much as I did. The beer seems to fall flat. I am holding hope that this beer may have been mishandled during transport. I will have to try it again in a few months. Edit: I think I had a bad bottle, my wife and i both tasted a difference. It was delicious.

Pours amber with a thin head. The aroma malty sweet with some caramel. The flavor has the nice malt sweetness and then gets a hit of hops. Peppery and piney. Quite nice and easy going down.
