3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is one IPA that’s not ashamed of being big and aggressive and I like it. It’s a gorgeous red color w/ a long lasting head. It’s nose is vaguely fruity and hoppy, good but not inspiring. When you taste it though, this sucker is huge. There’s just loads of hop bitterness and while there is a touch of malty sweetness it doesn’t come close to any sort of balance--and that’s a good thing! The bitterness clings to your tongue and begs you to take another sip. This is a dangerous one that you’ll want to suck down in volume in the hot summer son but will undoubtedly leave you w/ a headache after a couple hours sipping this and baking in the heat. Such is the life of a true beer geek. The ones of us who truly believe are willing to suffer for our love.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355mL bottle Brewed 19Aug14
Clean copper gold body, holds a dense white head.
Nice but somewhat subdued aroma; grass, pine, bitter orange, with a light caramelly, toasted malt note.
Full, slick body, nice creamy carbonation, persistent on the palate.
Hops come through with a savoury tone on the body; cut grass, dried leafy herbs, pine & cedar, with grapefruit rind combining with toasty malt backbone. Dry finish, sharp bitterness cuts through nicely.

Pours copper with a thick off white head that leaves nice lacing in the glass. Aroma is malt and grapefruit. Has medium carbonation the mouth with a bit of a bitter kick on the back end. Good grapefruit bitterness and a tad sweet and malty. This a nice IPA.

if it only had an over the top nose, as the brewery claims. Deschutes is my favorite place, so for them, this is a miss. i can name off about a dozen ipas of the top of my head that are more flavorful. not bad, just a touch boring. better on tap. 7/10-last batch the best i;ve had in a bottle. juicier. hoppier. fresher? definitely better, more like the tap."

Lots of hops, but balanced with malt sweetness and body. Dark Amber color was viewful. Less hop bite than many MI brews.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Keg at Pipes of Scotland, Uppsala, 20140924) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, herbalness and creamy toffee. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, fruitiness, creamy toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A well done IPA.
