So smooth as dark fruits lead you down a moldy trail littered with bread dough. It begins raining brown sugar as you begin to loose youe mind. MUSHROOMS I TELL YOU! IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma is heavenly. Unlike anything I have ever experienced. Kind of like a sweet porter. A little smoke, a little brown sugar, caramel, and something else.
The flavor is consistant. Smokey and sweet, apple-butter maybe? Finish is smootth and only then does a hint of hops sneek through.
Delicious. I found a good deal on this and bought several before I had even tasted it. Glad I did. TimE (1368), Tokyo, Japan

The mouth if full bodied, mildly sticky and alcoholic with heavy flavours of liquorice, anisette, wood and Christmas cake drenched in rum dancing around your mouth. All ending long and lingering like a fine cigar. AWESOME!

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 30, 2004 This is an awesome brew! Brownish red in color, bead of pearls of a tan head around the glass. The aroma is heavenly, very woody, malty and sherry like. The flavor accents the wood, but has the malt characteristic of an English Strong Ale. The flavor has some similarities to Fish Tales Barleywine, but maybe better. Balanced finish, fantastic beer. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA

I’m glad I no longer drink wine -- this would have cost me well over $2500 in wine. Bitter hoppy and fruit sour aromas, a flattened body which is perfect for appreciating the lightly textured body. Easy and non-competing contributions from hops, yeast and malt. Finishes long and complex. Thanks, Shadallion! GreatLibations (1470), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Pours like coffee with an amber hue and no head. Just a few bubbles. To be expected at this age. Strong aromas of sweet molasses and a bit of whiskey actually. Medium nectar weight surprisingly with some residual effers clinging to life to create some diversion. Huge creamed coffee sweetness is balanced by a bit of acidity and alcohol. This is not at all cloying and is actually rather enjoyable. I savor the finish knowing this will more than likely never cross my path again. Was tasty with my home made nachos. Shadallion (526), Sacramento, California, USA
