4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 drpimento (1752) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Whoa, incredible stuff! I let it warm a bit out of the fridge and then poured a glass of huge thick, foamy, frothy, sudsy, light tan head and lots of lace. Color is a very cloudy orange brown. Aroma is heavy on dark ripe fruit, yeast, toffee, malt. and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is similar to nose, but in some odd way, more muted and balanced; all of those characteristics are there but in a seamless whole. Body is voluptuous and carbonation is spot on. Finish is like flavor, with an emphasis on yeast, longish, and without much alcohol. Good and gnarly.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (2615) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2011
22oz bottle. Murky red-brown, thin fading head. Chewy chocolate toffee tones. Pretty mellow for the ABV, lots of nutty dark fruit tones. Doesn’t come off overly sticky. Deep Scottish Ale tones almost. Plum. A little faint heat. Some cognac tones, but minimal alcohol heat or harshness. Well done.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Fred82 (1824) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2011
22oz bottle.
Appearance : Deep amber with a small head.
Aroma : Roasted malt with great brown sugar. Nice overcooked caramel. Rather spicy with resinous hops.
Taste : Sweet licorice with light raisins and light red fruits. Nice licorice on finish with light spices and resinous hops.
Overall : Very nice one. I really enjoyed the brown sugar and overcooked caramel. Felt very well balanced to me. Not too much hops but just enough to balance the caramel. Nice licorice too but not overdone. Rich but still rathe drinkable. Not much alcohol. Nice stuff !
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 socaltay (195) - Ventura, California, USA - SEP 27, 2011
22oz bomber. Pours very smoothly with some decent carbonation for a 2010 beer. The appearance is a reddish brown color with only a hint of a head that faded nearly instantly. Aroma is of wood and leather with some raisin like candied fruit notes. Taste is wonderful. It is not overwhelming and all the complexities are there in balance. The taste is full of candied fruit and malt with some bitterness and carbonation finishing off the balancing act.

pours a purple brown, big malt and boozy nose and taste solid malt backbone, not much hoppy flavor. Dark fruits, toasted caramel chocolate, vanilla. Very big, nice sipper definitely worth seeking out.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Snifter. Best after January 29, 2011.
Appearance: Very dark maroon-mahogany with thin light tan head and minor lacing rings.
Aroma: Major molasses - sweet and almost salty, a little soy sauce like. Toffee, caramel and cherry round out the fantastic malt aroma. Touch of English hops.
Taste: Malt onslaught of molasses, toffee, soy sauce and some nice fruity notes (plum, cherry, figs). There is a nice English hop flavor (but not bitterness) toward the finish that becomes more noticeable as I make my way through the bottle.
Palate: Very thick and full body. Quite smooth and warming. Not much carbonation, which is good for this beer.
Overall: So happy I finally got a hold of one of these bottles, as it is fantastic. I can definitely tell that this is based off of Jubelale, but it is even better (and I love Jubelale). Guess I have to wait until 2020 for them to make another batch.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GT2 (3972) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 24, 2011
651mL 2010 ed black wax. Poured a deep mahogany brune with a thick, yellow head and massive, sheety lace. Aroma is dark fruit forward with raisins, dates, musty cellar/vinous notes, chocolate, toffee. Taste is cardboardy, mint heavy, lots of peppermint, toffee malt. A little sweet and lacking mouthfeel. 2/6/2011 7/5/6/3/13=3.4

22oz. Bottle (at 10%ABV per the bottle): Aroma of Bourbon, caramel, malt, and slight vanilla. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a small, tan head that lasted throughout, as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is heavily sweet. Tastes of malt, caramel, wood, roasting, hops, and dark ripe fruit. Medium to full body. Viscous texture. Average carbonation. Malt, wood, caramel finish is medium sweet and lightly bitter. 10%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

On tap @ Meddlesome Moth.
Reddish brown pour with a decent amount of off-white head. Aroma is heavy on the malt - roasted and caramel with some dark fruit, oak, and slight citrus hops. Flavor is great with some spices, chocolate, and dark fruit. This is roughly a year old and I bet it will taste even better with more time on it.
