Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

2008 Bottle. Pours with a light brown, smallish head that leaves decent lacing, and a clearish, dark amber body. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, plums and some brandy (essence, not alocohol). Taste is bitter with wood, some nutts, toffee and slightly metalic. Creamish mouthfeel, light bubbles.

Pours dark brown in color with little head. Taste is spicy, what I would expect from a winter ale. Slightly bitter, lot of caramel and cinnamon. It’s a decent beer just not something I would usually drink.

2008 bottle compliments of my good buddy Andrew - thanks! Pours a deep brown/red with a tan head. Aroma is subdued, but the hops and spices are apparent. The taste is bitter, but not unpleasant for a winter brew. The malts are complimented by notes of cinnamon and the citrus hop flavor. Easy to drink and left me wanting more.

2008 edition. Pours a rich mahogony from the bottle with a tan/yellow head -- much like a scottish ale. Smells of hops, cherry, and cinnamon with creamy malts, caramel, and additional hops in the flavor. Warm with alcohol and prime for holiday drinking. 2005 bottle from ajm -- many thanks. Ages incredibly well. Full of black cherry, blackberries, coffee grounds, and red licorice.

2008 batch. Dark brown with red highlights. Two finger long-lasting tan head and fair amount of lacings. Piney-citrus aroma. Orange grapefruit hops, plenty of roasted malts makes this a smooth winter ale. Slight alcohol taste evident. From a 12 ounce bottle. Handsome label art.

Courtesy of ibrew2or3. ’07 bottle. Pours cloudy brown, with brownish/beige head. Aroma has this nice wintery feel to it. Cherry, malty caramel. Taste malty, hoppy, fruit notes and caramel. Very sweet, warm, medium carb, filled with some nice flavors.

Appearance: Pours a clearish, dark mahogany body with a small, bubbly, off-white head. Smell: Spicy-scented caramel malt nose with a slight note of pine. Taste: Sweet caramel maltiness sprinkled with spices. Drop of molasses. Floral overtones, along with a taste of pine needles, though only a mild balancing bitterness. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Why, it’s downright tolerable! A decent, stand-up member of the winter warmer league.

Will totally have this again. Beautiful complex nose and flavor featuring cinnamon, mincemeat (heavily), apple and dark malt. I was very surprised and pleased. Re-rate 9/25/08: a 2005 bottle. Was wandering around in Beverage House in Thatcher, AZ (google it and be floored) and found a sixer of 2005. Thick black licorice, brownie and black currant in nose and flavor. Additional flavors include spice, prune, and burnt toffee. Totally exceptional.
