Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

2007. 12oz bottle. Pours brwon with red highlights. Thin, somewhat sticky, light brown head that laces the glass. Smells of sweet fruity malts and brown sugar with some hops in the background. Tastes sweet throughout with a quick biting bittereness on the finish. Caramelly and fruity(red) malts and hops. Has some body to the mouthfeel, nice full carbonation. Refreshing flavor for a winter brew. Not a whole bunch of spiciness or anything.

’07. Bottle. Flashy label, ehh? Big malty nose, I smell toffee. Nice light brown color, dry finish. Enjoyable, not Deschutes’ best effort though..

2007 - Pours a rich, hazy red/brown, with little head. Nice aroma of fruit and hops. Enjoyed the bitter, malty flavor. Hops comes through a bit much for me, but is a fairly well balanced brew. Mouth is thin, and finishes dry. Wished for a bit more taste from a seasonal, but overall very drinkable. Prefer the 2007 to the 2006.

Pours a pure copper with a frothy thick lacing tan head. Smells of candied fruit, caramel with a barleywinesque hop character. Tastes of mild fruit, malty, and a very bitter and lingering finish. Thin in the mouth, slightly watery. Very drinkable and a nice twist on the style

Pours a very nice auburn color with a thin head and lots of sediment. Aroma of toffee, sweet malt, with notes of some dried fruits and perhaps a little chocolate. Flavor is distinctly english malt with light roast, chocolate, fruit, caramel malts, and a little maple. Lots of pleasant malty flavors in this one. This one is actually pretty fruity, maybe from all of the yeast in the bottle. A light hoppy bitterness comes through as the flavor lingers for a minute. This is very drinkable! This is an enjoyable winter NW style winter brew.

On tap at Stone.Dark black with a thin dissipating head Some aroma of malt and dark fruit. Some bitterness and coffee flavors. Not super complex or rich on the finish. Not bad brew.

No complaints here. Mm-mmm!! Tthis is one tasty burg . . . uh, beer! Quite a bit like a couple I had at the recent Holiday Ale Fest. Quite dark-fruity/tangy, sweet and malty; raisin-bready nose. The only weak point is a bit of wateriness in the finish. A fine addition to the holiday season lineup.
