SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Oct 6, 2007 On draft at O’Briens. Slightly hazed mahogany red color with a creamy beige head. Roasty malts, bitter herbs, spice in the aroma with subtle molasses and floral hop notes as well. Bold and sharp, roasty bitter and spicy flavors can’t quite hide the subtle sweetness, allspice, clove, coriander and pepper with an astringent (charcoalish) finish. Rich full creamy body, thick and gentle on the tongue. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2007 12 oz. bottle, 2007 season. Brilliant garnet red pour with a compact, long-lived head. Toasty, nutty aroma with plenty of sweetness behind it. Nice hop bite right on the front of the tongue that carries through all the way to the back. Flavor is a mix of slightly sweet malt and dark stone fruit with just a hint of almond. The hop profile fits this perfectly--a restrained, tangy bitterness. The artwork this year requires sunglasses, but it grows on you! SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Oct 4, 2007 2007 batch from a bottle: Pours a clear amber blood red color with a thick creamy off-white 2 finger head. Quite beautiful to look at in a pint glass. Aroma of baking carmelized caramel and toffee and some floral hops. Flavor is malty and carmelly, slightly sweet and very toasty and fresh tasting. A nice light hoppy bitterness throughout, neutral with a floral finish. Clean and crisp and a medium carmel body. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 2, 2007 2007 batch in 12-oz. bottle--Poured a deep brown-black-amber hue with an average to thick white head. Notes of caramel and vanilla. Nice hop spiciness and sweet maltiness. Great balance in flavor and complexity. Nutty, sharp, and warming. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Oct 2, 2007 Updated: Oct 13, 2009old rating:

pours a clear brown-red with a medium size tan head, and great lacing.
smell is floral, malt, some citrus, a little pine, caramel, dark fruit, spice, nutmeg, and a little roastiness in the back.
taste is creamy, lots of spice, some sour malt, some hops in the back, a little caramel, some nuts, and ends a little bitter. doughert82 (19), Bay Area, California, USA Sep 28, 2007 I am happy to report that Jubelale is back for the 20th year and still tasting great. I was able to land a first batch sixer from John’s Market, and although the label has certainly been better in years past, the beer stills holds its status as a superior Northwest winter ale. Jubelale is a staple winter beer, and I look forward to enjoying it as the weather gets colder!!! RSRIZZO (1346), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 23, 2007 Had this beer on 1/2/2006. Aroma is a sweet roasted malt scent. Color is a deep orange brown with good carbonation and nice head. Taste is rich, roasted and bitter. Starting with a medium body goes down with a sharp feel. Finish comes out of this sharp feel with a malty flavor that is backed by a full bitterness then leaves you with a warm feel. Overall I think its a nice Winter brew but not as balanced as I like a beer. buddahmind (39), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 20, 2007 A little over popular if you ask me. Don’t get me wrong I like this very flavorful big winter warmer, and it does give you what you ask for. But I find that in order for me to deem something festive I have to be able to drink more than one of them...and I haven’t wanted a second Jubel yet. Good first beer of the winter.
