12 oz bottle. 2006 vintage. Poured a hazy brown color with orange highlights. Attractive aroma of molasses, plum, and raisin. Slightly sweet on the tongue and medium bodied. Tasted of light molasses, toffee, crushed pine needles, and dark fruits. Well suited for colder months.

Bottled. Cloudy mahogany body with a thin, tan head that faded out about 1/2-way through--no lace. Body was medium-fullish with lots of light, foamy carbonation, that faded away with the head. Lightly dry finish and some watery character. Aroma was big malts and alcohol with a lot of toffee and caramel, and some spicy hops. Flavor was a wallop of toffee and toasted malts, with some alcohol and a surprisingly bitter, hoppy finish. Enjoyed drinking it. Flavor is very good.

2006 vintage. Pours to a deep mahogany/garnet body with a tall and lasting foamy tan head. Awesome lacing. The aroma is nutty and is strong with wreaths and dusty earthy spices. The flavor is spicy with nutmeg and mace and a dash of Chinese 5 spice. Light pine hops, spruce, and nuts. The palate is spicy with a lingering bitterness and earthiness. Really quite festive.

Bottle from Bottle Barn Gift Sampler; nose of spices, dates, and rich caramel malt; hazy brown with a big straw colored head; flavor of dark fruit, caramel, mixed with some mild hop bitterness from the medium body the mild bitterness lasting to a finish.

Geez, they describe this as English?? Orange rind, mint, pine and egg aroma which reminded me of something from Anchor, plus spicy, puddingy malt. Lots of thick and sweet crystal malt toffee but malt flavour is otherwise a touch hollow It doesn’t matter too much because it’s swamped with fantastic hop flavour and quite a strong bitterness which is perhaps a little rough. Very, very nice. Didn’t expect to like this one nearly as much as I did, and I could definitely see myself downing a few of these at Christmas. You should be able to figure out where I got this from by now.

This is a good malty brew that even this certified hop-head can appreciate. It has a good look to it, having a reddish brown body with a tall & creamy beige head. Its aroma is full of malt, roasted & toasted, sweet with toffee, and balanced with a light floral hopping. The flavor is rich and tasty, malty and having some soft nuts in it. And to make me happy, there’s a solid level of floral and herbal bitterness that intensifies as the drinking progresses. All in all, a well crafted brew.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a good sized tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is toasty with some toffee. Mildly bitter and the palate is medium. Overall a pretty good beer, just not my style.
