Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

A nice winter brew from Deschutes. Appearance is dark brown with a cloudy hue. Mouthfeel is smooth and full of a nice hoppy and spicey flavor you expect from a winter brew. Overall this is a nice brew.

in bottle. amazing beige head was statuesque in quality and form. lovely palate somehow manages to balance the extreme hops. now, this is a Christmas beer! spicey and orange tones, all delivered by the hops, not added spices.

Poured from a bottle to an ale glass, this poured a dark brown. Very Stout-Like this ale had chocolaty malt nose and a slight head which evaporated quckly having a flavor of toasty malt and chocolate notes with some slight hopiness at the finsh. No lacing to speak of. Carbonation was moderate, as what you might expect in a stout. All in all not a bad beer and it is worth a try.

12 oz. bottle courtesy asteele8 pours a red mahogany with a durable creamy light tan head that leaves and excellent lace. There is a nice blend of pine and spice hop aromas with caramel, tooffee, and roasty grain. Medium carbonation and body combine nicely with a pleasant resinous quality giving this a nice mouthfeel. Good sweet/bitter balance enhances the aromas. This isn’t all spiced up like a lot of holiday seasonals, which is much more to my liking.

Another bottle from my want list sent to me by bitbucket. Thanks again Bob! I really appreciate all the great beer you have sent to me... Deschutes Jubelale 2006 pours out a medium to dark brown color. It has an interesting foamy head with large and tiny bubbes packed together in a moonscape-like design. It collapses unevenly to form a residual frothy crown. The lacing is quite intricate and plentiful. The aroma contains roasted malt, some light fruitiness, and caramel. Roasted malt, caramel malt, and light mocha notes comprise the flavor. There is also some delicate fruitiness/citrus and mild bitterness as the beer warms. It has a dry, cocoa-like finish. The overall flavor is very controlled, balanced, and pleasing. Average body and mouthfeel. This is a very good Winter Ale (probably toward the top of the list) and one of the better Deschutes brews that I’ve had. Sadly, this is just another satisfying beer that isn’t available in my area... 12 oz bottle, 6.7% abv (250 1017M).

2006 Pours a very nice looking brown color. Nothing specal in the head, but it’s there. The smell is complex, but not overpowering. The flavor and drinkability are great for this brew. Almost a sweet taste at some points. Very good combonation between the sweet flavor and the hops/alcohol. Very, drinkable.

12 oz bottle from Bev Mo La Mesa. Pours a deep dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma was a little hoppy......very strong malt character.
