Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

On tap @ Wildwood restaurant in Portland, OR, Probably not a fair rating. I will try it again some other time. Had it following a pint of the unbelievably huge The Abyss.

2006 aquired from BuckeyeBoy. Thanks. Pours a dark brown with a nice sized off white head. The first aroma I thought I caught was maybe ripened plums. Flavor of malts, light spices, and a touch of smoke and bitter hops in the finish. Feels creamy to the palate.

Jubelale is my favorite winter seasonal. On a few occasions, I’ve had the chance to try this on cask or on nitro, and it is truly an amazing experience. It manages to be malty, roasted and hoppy in a very well balanced way. I also really like that Deschutes has a local artist make a new label for this beer every year. When I find myself gearing up for 6 months of dark days, the appearance of a new Jubelale label brightens my day.

This is a wonderful, strong, rich and very smokey beer. It is so rich in flavor it feels more like a holiday meal then a holiday beer. This is by far my favorite winter ale I have had. Very bitter in my my book means very good.

Cloudy red, small yellow head. Mostly malt and caramel aroma. Sweet hoppy flavor, citrus, malt, and burnt caramel. A bit too thin but decent balanced finish.

Pour looks very nice, with reddish copper body, and a dense ochre colored head. Aroma of toffee, brown sugar and cherry, maybe a light roast character. Tastes of sugar and honey, followed by some burnt toffee, caramel, and then some pear flavors. Finishes more heavily on the roast tendancies, and the hops lend to a woody taste. Feels creamy without a heavy body. Excellent winter beer, well blended flavors.

Pours a deep dark amber with a nice fluffy off white head and some streaky lacing. Aroma is nutty and toffee-ish with lots of fruity esters, herbal and floral hops, some earthy spiciness as well. GOod full malt profile- lots of caramel and nutty malts, toasty, light chocolate, dried fruits and a good clean ho bitterness. Good full mouthfeel, yet easy to drink. Nice strong ale.

Reddish brown with a thick, persistent tan head. Alcoholic, malty aroma. Full bodied, roasty, hoppy attack but malty finish, good balance. Rich, satisfying, finely crafted.
