Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

2006 bottle. Beer is medium-hued caramel brown. Head is initially small, ecru, frothy and is mostly diminishing.
The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, cloying sticky-sweet caramel, light note of shortbread; Hoppy with moderate notes of resin, wintergreen-like herb, light note of cedar; Yeasty with a light note of cellar and a moderate doughy note; Light miscellaneous note of moderately weighty alcohol, trace of dried currents, cinnamon and a plasticy phenol that drifts in and out..
The flavor is ligthly sweet, lightly-to-moderately bitter with a lightly bittersweet, grippy finish.
The body is medium, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is average.
Seems a bit off-kilter and not engaging.

This is an excellent example of what an IPA should be, though rarely is. A biscuity, fruity palate blended with caramel balances off the full-bodied hops that come across as "warming" rather than "bitter." The only truly detrimental aspects of this brew are its rather limited complexity and almost non-existent nose. Still, a fine brew.

Poured into a pint glass, dark blood reddish brown hue. Color is spectacular in good light. The body is very malty, so if you like a good malt brew, from an IPA lover, Id say this is a delicious beer that brings out a little bit of coffee grind, choco taste out, to drink while its available. Little lacing, little head. I suggest a icey cold glass from the freezer, cause this one will warm you up!

Draft at O’brien’s. Aromas were fruity but that’s about it. Flavor was a bit better with some hoppy bitterness and decent malty body. Not bad.

12oz bottle probably a month or so old. pours a dark amber with modest head. not much going on in the aroma, some nuttiness and sweet caramel, smells like it’ll be a balanced beer. flavor is full, mild chocolate, toasted biscuit caramel, nutty. a nicely balanced beer that fits the season. great work.

Rich and malty with a meat and potatoes body. Hard to have more than one in sitting. Flavor is intense, but get to me half way through the beer. Don’t know if I could rock this again. BAH HUMBUG!

I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. Delicious and rich malts and hoppy bite. Full body, strong alcohol, bitter balanced by sweetness.

Rerate: 2007 Bottle. Man, whoever designed that bottle must’ve had a field day. WEEE!! Woody malty aroma, pours a murky dark mahogany with an offwhite head. Huge malt flavor and dark fruits with some hops and acidity in the finish. the malt in this is fantastic. In one word, this beer is YUMMY!
