COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

Velvety, malty, toasty and roasty. Appearance is amber in color, thick with a small one finger head. Super smooth and delicious. Outstanding winter brew.

2009 vintage. Pours a very cloudy deep dark copper color with dark amber hues when held to a light source and a one finger light beige that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sweet malty aroma with subtle spice, alcohol and dark fruit. I’m picking up a buttery diacetyl presence that is slightly off-putting. Hints of caramel, biscuit and rye along with a subtle medicinal/herbal character and sweet dark fruit, especially cherry. Medium bodied with a prominent peppery spice presence up front that lingers throughout over the sweet malt and dark fruit notes into a lingering dry finish. Slight herbal/medicinal with only a touch of the buttery character found in the aroma. Very malty with lots of caramel, biscuit, toffee, toast and rye. I’m also picking up hints of cherry, raisin, plum and grape. Complex but a bit too heavy on the spices for my liking. The lack of booziness/heat helps drinkability but I’m just not a big fan of the flavor.

Jubelale. Taster into Sniffer glass at urge gastropub. Light brown fast dissipating head. Smells like a dark sweet winter lager. Red brown caramel malts on the taste with a decent citrus piney hop flair. No lacing. Overall 8 of 10.

Appearance: deep rich mahogany hues under a khaki head with lots of lace. Head lingers as a thin film, broken in some areas.
Nose: spices, apples, plums, prunes. Chocolate in the back along with raisins and chocolate cake. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Apple crumble and fig newtons which mingles with aforementioned spices. Subtle and soft. Christmas cake.
Palate: sweet and fruity than spiced and dry. Apples and plums. Each quaff is dry and spiced with hints of earth in the back – twigs and shrubbery. Grows drier as it warms, highlighting spices – nutmeg forward followed by cinnamon. No brown sugar. Pine cones.
Final Thoughts: quite tasty. I could drink this all the time any time, but it does speak of the holiday seasons, relaxing with my love in front of a crackling fireplace. Another winner from Deschutes Brewery.

Dark brown color; medium sized compact head. Mild aroma of roasted malt and roasted nuts. Good flavor of dark caramel with a touch of roasted malt; the final is a bit nutty, with refreshing hop, and drier mouthfeel. Quite good.

A dark mahoany that is almost clear, very dark in the middle. A huge light tan head rises about four fingers. There is great retention, half the head falls fass, but a full two finger frosting like cap stick around. GREAT lacing. Certainly looks the part...The aroma is ROUGH with a capital R. Way too sweet with toffee then plums and winter spice. It teases because at first its almost nice, but its inappropriately strong. Weirdly reminds me of Lime Gatorade, how?...The taste is equally poor. Its incredily light in taste after how strong the aroma is. The feel is way to light, almost water. The taste is light toffee, coffee, gatorade, with chalk and alcohol. This is horrible and needs to be dumped, even more opening it

Bottle. Copper with minimal head. Nice aroma with some magic in it along with some dark toffee and hops. Dark burnt toffee, coffee, hops, alcohol. Smooth and light enough to quaff and not jus be labelled a sipper. Strong enough that sipping does increase the enjoyment factor. Nice alcohol and hop notes in a warm aftertaste.
