alaskanwarren (272), Edgewater, Colorado, USA Nov 11, 2007 Pours mahogany with a great looking tan head. Aroma is caramel, malt, hint of toastiness, plum and mild spiciness. Flavor is sweet, decent amount of fruits and malt, giving way to more hints of bitter and spice. It’s pretty well balanced for a winter ale. It’s not crazy, radical or shocking. It’s just a great winter ale. I’d definitely purchase this again.
arondee (69), USA Oct 11, 2008 Pours dark brown in color with little head. Taste is spicy, what I would expect from a winter ale. Slightly bitter, lot of caramel and cinnamon. It’s a decent beer just not something I would usually drink. jacobp51 (3), San Diego, California, USA does not count Oct 9, 2008 2008 bottle compliments of my good buddy Andrew - thanks! Pours a deep brown/red with a tan head. Aroma is subdued, but the hops and spices are apparent. The taste is bitter, but not unpleasant for a winter brew. The malts are complimented by notes of cinnamon and the citrus hop flavor. Easy to drink and left me wanting more. nbutler11 (219), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 8, 2008 2008 edition. Pours a rich mahogony from the bottle with a tan/yellow head -- much like a scottish ale. Smells of hops, cherry, and cinnamon with creamy malts, caramel, and additional hops in the flavor. Warm with alcohol and prime for holiday drinking. spikester (440), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 8, 2008 2008 batch. Dark brown with red highlights. Two finger long-lasting tan head and fair amount of lacings. Piney-citrus aroma. Orange grapefruit hops, plenty of roasted malts makes this a smooth winter ale. Slight alcohol taste evident. From a 12 ounce bottle. Handsome label art. sebletitje (404), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 5, 2008 Courtesy of ibrew2or3.
