A dark, malty celebration ale with layered flavors and beautifully balanced hopping. Jubelale pours deep garnet in color, medium bodied, with notes of chicory, earth, spice and fruit. To beer lovers, itís like Yule fire and family.

This is my 14th different Deschutes, and it is a good one. It releases a lot of English note, and it sustains a great buzz. It is not spicy at all like you would think for a seasonal ale, and it has a clean, dry finish. It will make you hungry for Texas pit-smoked bbq, but for those of you who donít have Texas pit-smoked bbq a slim jim may work. Its a great ale, and very inline with the seasonal celebration ales.Viva la de Schutes!!!

This is another tasty english strong. The aroma is toasty malt. Taste is toasted malt with a brand cereal type taste with just a bit of hops on the end. I just wish it had a little bit more body and richness and little less of the brand flakes flavor. Overall, itís still very good.

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a clear, deep copper hue, with off white/light tan head foam that reduced gradually to a thin ring & film, and left some dots & dashes of lacing on the glass. The nose was decent malt, fruit, and light spice, basically a blend of holiday cake/pudding variety, with light, syrupy sweetness. Light to medium bodied, with presentable carbonation, included moderate, earthy bitterness, and some alcohol, but came off a bit tame for a Strong Ale.

thereís a lot going on in this bottle, and thatís a good thing. Hoppier and more complex than expected, it tastes like a hoppy strong ale and ages like a scotch ale. weird. always at the top of my winter list." 2014 had on cask for the first time and it;s just a perfect beer for that. Dryhopped with Tettnanger hops. What a treat?!

This magnificent beer pours a transpicuous deep burnished copper color, the head mastodonic in size, spumescent in texture, and the color a winsome tan color, as the head deliquesces, a satiny sheet of lace forms to caress the glass. Big malt laden nose, caramel candy sweet, hints of the hops lay just beneath this delight for the senses, ambrosial start, nicely malt laden; the top has a moderate feel to the palate. Finish is agreeably carbonated, the hops spectacular in their spicy presence, nice droughty aftertaste that lingers on the palate.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass at ~45 degrees F. A: Pours a reddish-amber, and forms a thick, frothy tan head with an orange tint. The head lasts a good long while, and leaves some serious lacing on the glass while it does. Held to light, the beer is a hazy red-amber, with no visible bubbles rising anywhere. S: Malt and spice greet one at the fore of the nose, with hints of something floral and piney beneath. The aroma is primarily toasted caramel malt and spices, however, mainly clove and nutmeg. T: Floral and piney notes are confirmed in the taste, beneath caramel malt so heavily toasted that it is nearly all bitter, not so much sweet. The spice notes are subtle rather than bold, appearing as just hints of ginger and nutmeg, not so much clove. Some fruitiness is present, but only in the middle of a sip. Floral bitterness lingers a while after the finish. M: Smooth, light-to-medium in body, with carbonation on the lower side. O: A solid winter warmer of the brown ale variety. Iíd personally have preferred something with more spice emphasis and less floral-pine influence, though I am an admitted malthead. The body seemed a touch on the light side for a winter beer, and Iíd also have liked the malt to be less toasted bitter, to allow more sweetness in. Still, not a bad beer.

Sweet, malty dark Amber beer. Very limited hops. Wouldnít buy again. Not the best of their brews!

Dark brownish amber pour with thick khaki head. Malty aroma with some xmas spice. Tastes of raisin, plum, brown sugar, toffee, and nuts with some light spice. Pretty decent.

Aroma: Malts are mostly toasty with a little spice; jammy otherwise. Appearance: Dark amber pour with a foamy tan head that settles into a skin. Flavor: Fairly fruity up front, but jam comes off more like runts, especially banana runts, leading to a semi-sweet finish. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: Wasnít really thrilled with this at all; when reading other reviewers, Iím wondering if the beer was, for some reason, in less than stellar condition.
