Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

------2007-Bottle... Poured a dark amber with a mild beige head. Malt on the nose. Foamy, chewy palate. Had flavors of caramelized nut, chocolate, and a great malt/hop balance. Very satisfying brew. ------2006-Very Dark Amber, nice tan head. Hints of chocalate and almost like a coffee or toffee flavor with initial flavor. Pretty smooth palate. Aftertaste is well in hops. A good seasonal kick.

Deep clear red in color with a thin head. Full, malty aroma with a heavy fruitiness a hint of chocolate. Full bodied and rich. Sweet, fruity flavor with noticeable but not prominent hops. Has some astringency, probably from the excessive use of crystal malt. Moderate bitterness.

Pours clear dark brown, with a tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, hops, and malt. Taste is roasted malt, dark fruit and hops. Alcohol is there, but it works well with the other tastes. Thanks to Indiana Red for this one.

Pours fairly dark brown with a big retained tan colored head. Aroma is hoppy grapefruit but there is some nice malty roastiness there too. Flavor is really nice with some decent complexity, especially an ale of this ABV. Enjoyable maltiness with some assertive hoppy to balance out the package. Quite nice.

Bottle. Deep brown with a reddish hint, no head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, spices and some milk chocolate. The flavor is the same, some hops in the finish. Sweet and grassy; doesn’t go that well together.

Much better than other "winter warmers" I’ve had this year. Strong malt taste. Hops. When English "strong ales" are rich in flavor like American strong ales (but without the heavy taste), then we get something like this one. A very good beer.

Pours murky brownish red with a decent and lasting offwhite head. A little bit of roasty malt and caramel sweetness aroma. Flavor is cocoa and caramel again but faint. Creamy texture and a slightly bitter pine sort of finish. A little bit of spice going on here but everything is just a little too faint for my liking. Kick it up a notch emeril.

2005 vintage, bottled. Very nice dark ruby red color with a medium frothy brownish head. Interesting aroma of raspberry and dried apricots. Flavors of burned toast instantly mob the tongue, followed by the slightly yeasty flavors of a fresh Christmas bread. Very pleasant, non-spectacular seasonal beer.
