COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

A fresh hop aroma with a well rounded body and nice lacing. Alcohol is detectable and the malt adds a nice musky fruit aroma. This is a very nice winter beer.

This is a good malty brew that even this certified hop-head can appreciate. It has a good look to it, having a reddish brown body with a tall & creamy beige head. Its aroma is full of malt, roasted & toasted, sweet with toffee, and balanced with a light floral hopping. The flavor is rich and tasty, malty and having some soft nuts in it. And to make me happy, there’s a solid level of floral and herbal bitterness that intensifies as the drinking progresses. All in all, a well crafted brew.

Ernest (5185) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2002
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2011 Bottle (2011 vintage). Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber-brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, caramel, nuts), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot, resin), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of black tea and marshmallow. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Nice texture, aroma, and appearance, but as always this one is just too tart and unbalanced in the mouth.

Reddish coloured. Quite fruity and malty. Very sweet flavour. Not a bad beer, just plain boring.

Pours a deep dark amber with a nice fluffy off white head and some streaky lacing. Aroma is nutty and toffee-ish with lots of fruity esters, herbal and floral hops, some earthy spiciness as well. GOod full malt profile- lots of caramel and nutty malts, toasty, light chocolate, dried fruits and a good clean ho bitterness. Good full mouthfeel, yet easy to drink. Nice strong ale.

2004 bottle aging in my cellar, 12 ounce and served in my Rogue Santa glass: Pours a rich mahogany hue topped by a small but lasting beige head and okay lace, oily legs which is good sign. The nose detects lots of carmelized and toffee laden malts, oxidized English hops, over ripened crab-apple and starfruit, rich aromatic pipe tobacco, star anise and juniper berry, and a olde yeast ester, yummy and inviting!

The taste was heavy on the sweet malt at first but a clear cut of bitterness still shined through. Undertones of fruit and minor spice added to the palate depth. The oxidation characteristic is full proof of it’s tribute to the basic English Olden Ales, I found this to very true to to the style. The mouth feel is smooth and very drinkable, almost no note of alcohol detected.

What a wonderful beer indeed, spot on! I hope the other bottle ages as nicely, need to get some more. Shocking surprise and is that not what we want from this "hobby"?

Rerate. Numbers are for the 2002 vintage. Deep ruby color, medium foamy head. Rich malt aroma. Tastes very different from the 2001 edition. Rich malt flavor, molasses, spices and spruce. Not as hoppy as the 2001. Chocolate malts and a touch of banana and clove. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste us slightly bitter. Nice and warming. Great for winter evening sipping. 2001 release. Red brown color, medium head. Medium bodied brown ale, nice mild roasted malts. Somewhat hoppy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is malty and somewhat bitter.Nice and warming. Spiciness mellow with aging. Nice beer.
