Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

12 oz. bottle courtesy asteele8 pours a red mahogany with a durable creamy light tan head that leaves and excellent lace. There is a nice blend of pine and spice hop aromas with caramel, tooffee, and roasty grain. Medium carbonation and body combine nicely with a pleasant resinous quality giving this a nice mouthfeel. Good sweet/bitter balance enhances the aromas. This isn’t all spiced up like a lot of holiday seasonals, which is much more to my liking.

From tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours clear and golden deep golden hazzlenut brown with a small white head. Overripe fruity aroma, dense caramel malt note. Flavour has the same with a good hoppy counter balance. Smooth fruity and bitter finish. Nicely balanced.

2007 edition. Brick red with a half-inch tan head. Toasty malts, bread, nutty, and burnt. Creamy body. Burnt bread, malts, nutty flavors. Finish is sharply bitter. Impressive, and different. Will make its way into my winter lineup from now on.

12oz Bottle Pours out a dark amber topped with a small tan head. A hint of sweat caramel on the nose. Also picked up some hops on this one that was pretty nice.

Pours a deep garnet with clarity; wonderful head, moderately full, mostly lasting, creamy/pillowy, light tan, and some nice, soapy lacing. Nose is toffee, toasty almonds, hints of chocolate, and some pine hops and light roast notes in the back; rather pleasant. Flavor does not match the nose; toffee and almonds with some light dried fruit notes with plenty of piney/earthy hops and a medium-high bitterness. The bitterness lingers through the finish with the pine and leaves a long tingling on the tongue. Palate is medium bodied, moderate carbonation, and a creamy, dryish feel. Good winter warmer, but could improve with some aging. The malt richness is lacking a bit leading the hops to dominate more than I would like. Nothing spectacular, but well done beer for the cold months in Colorado.

Bottle. Poured deep mahogany with lasting tan head. much lacing. Much caramel/malt aroma. Big body with sweetis maltiness followed by hoppy bitterness. Warming finish, felt on sides of tongue. Worth seeking.
