Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

Bottle thanks to BMan1113VR. Pours a ruby brownish color with a medium sized canvas colored head. Nose has some nice american hops with a good dose of citrus. This transfers to the taste which as dominated by dark caramel, nuts, and grades. Medium slightly sticky mouthfeel and moderate finish. Good

2006, 12oz bottle locally via Roth’s. Pours a dark brown with red tint. Large chunky head. Strong aroma of caramel, toffee, and plums with some alcohol underneath.Tastes quite a bit different though. Starts out with some vanilla/toffee and finishes hot, somewhat acidic, and spicey/peppery. A hoppy aftertaste. Not at all what i expected. Not bad, just nothing like it smells like, lol. i think this is maybe too young and would do well cellared for 6+ months?

Pours a dark brown with sparkling red highlights and a lacy tan head. Caramel malt, ripe fruit and a hint of spice in the aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet and fruity, with hints of malt, chocolate and spice. A good hoppy, though not overly bitter finish. Seriously not bad at all!

Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black. Nice 2 inch tan head that leaves lots of lacing. Smell is strong roast coffee malts and chocolate. Taste is mellow coffee with a nice integrated hops bitterness at the end. A hint of skunkiness spoiled the flavor a bit. Mouthfeel is full with medium-low carbonation. Leaves the mouth feeling coated with a nice tingle in the throat.

Bottle. 2008 batch. Pours a clear, deep walnut color with a one-inch light tan head. The inviting aroma is of caramel and nutmeg/cinnamon. Flavor is malty upfront, but the hops keeps it from being too sweet. Nice caramel tones and good spice flavor give this brew character. There is a bit of bitterness in the flavor that lingers--but in a good way. Soft mouthfeel. I’d like to pair this brew with a good beef stew and sourdough bread on a cold night.
