COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark, malty celebration ale with layered flavors and beautifully balanced hopping. Jubelale pours deep garnet in color, medium bodied, with notes of chicory, earth, spice and fruit. To beer lovers, itís like Yule fire and family.

Bottle. 2008 batch. Pours a clear, deep walnut color with a one-inch light tan head. The inviting aroma is of caramel and nutmeg/cinnamon. Flavor is malty upfront, but the hops keeps it from being too sweet. Nice caramel tones and good spice flavor give this brew character. There is a bit of bitterness in the flavor that lingers--but in a good way. Soft mouthfeel. I’d like to pair this brew with a good beef stew and sourdough bread on a cold night.

Spice, fruit cake, mild cocoa, roasty astringency, baked pear, bready. Meh as with prior years itís overly spiced. Iíd start from scratch with this tired ass recipe.

Itís only September... seems a bit early for a holiday beer. But, as usual, the 2014 Deschutes Jubelale is very good. Rich dark color, creamy head, roasted maltiness, lightly spiced, and balanced hops flavor. A delicious holiday ale... but seriously, Deschutes, at least wait until October next year, sheesh.

Draft. Aroma is a medium malt. Appearance is brown with some lacing. Taste is almost Belgian, but is a medium malt. Palate is a weird one. Overall, a decent beer, but not much to write home about. A Belgian brown is what it tastes like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

6.7% ABV. Winter Ale. Nice thick light brown head. Vanished quick enough. Nose is redolent of sugar plums, rum raisins and fruitcake. First mouthful is full of the muscled forearm of a strong ale. Nicely alcoholic without being unpleasant or rough. A first impression of oak ash leaving a nice warms feeling in the belly. A good vehicle for flavors that are reminiscent of cinnamon-laced hot cider, mulled wine, plum preserves, cranberry sauce, nutmeg and even a brief hint of cloves. Makes me want to have turkey. A bit of a flat-footed finish, but overall a nicely balanced ale.

Jubel 2014. Just released Sept 2014. 12 oz bottle. Being a local Bend resident, we always await the release of the newest Jubelale. Although Sept seems a little early for the winter beer, we drink it anyway! This year is a nice product for the upcoming cooler nights and winter days. The warmth fills your tummy. Now need to try it at the Pub on tap!

Pours a nice amber color with white head. Spice, dark fruits, and sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes warm and earthy.

[5381-20130524] 12floz bottle. Toasted light floral herby aroma has a light candied fruit note. Clear, amber orange body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Lightly smoked grains flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

Ebonied ruby lilí sauce up in here. Everyone seems to go bonkers for this. I donít get it. I mean itís solid, but not "flip your wig" crazy good. If looks could be taste itíd have a higher score. Whiff of molasses, maple, caramel and light spices. Taste is similar but a bit more nutty and slightly bitter but still sweet. Awesome cover art every year though.

From 355 ml bottle. Pours a mahogany brown with lighter honey highlights at the edge and a small cream coloured head. Aromas of dried fruit, toast, orange peel, dark caramel, black coffee and a whiff of booze. Taste is baked apple, raisins and dark bread at the front rising to a firm citrus zest bitterness. That falls off at the end to a spicy, fruity finish. More spice in the aftertaste. Nicely balanced and delicious.
