3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Portland brewery. Sampled seven and this was my favorite. Pours black with a thin cappuccino head and some lacing. Aroma of peppery hop combines well with roasted malt. Tastes of hops and chocolates, which works really well. The bitterness lingers but pleasantly, doesnít overwhelm. Very smooth for an IPA

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I donít even know where to start. It was nothing like what I expected it to be. It has a very dark appearence with a nice head that leaves rings down the glass as you drink it. The nose smells the coffee and chocolate, but also the hops. The after taste is the hops, but not so strong that it overpowers the dark malts. Overall I would strongly recommendx this beer. Its only downfall is that it is only available at the Deshutes Public House, it is not bottled.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Deschutes: Very dark brown, even for a black ipa. Nice amount of roastiness with hints of chocolate, citrus, and florals. This immediately seems like Black Butte has been sneaking over to Mirror Pondís place for some mischief! Quite enjoyable.
