This is one of the best barley wines Iíve had. Aromas are sweet and vinous. Grains too. Flavors are sweet. Sherry, grapes, brown sugar. Excellent stuff.

Pours a deep, hazy chestnut brown with a fairly dense head. Aroma is woodiness, raisins, sweet maltiness. Taste is very smooth with fair mouthfeel, fruitiness, wine notes and raisins continue in the taste, sweet with slight boozy notes in the end. Quite a nicely built brew.

Pours dark with hints of amber and small head. Great sweet aroma with hints of wine. The mouth feel on this Barleywine is perfect, so smooth. The ABV is hidden well. Great taste and palate. Overall one of my favorite Barleywines. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to Colin. Hazy deep amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Palate is airy and a little dry. Light fine carbonation. Sweetish light malt with a nice toffee streak. Spice. Touch of dried fruits but itís mostly toffee and big beer spice. Light dry finish.

Bottle split at Bruceís pad, big thanks to my OR supplier - he of said pad, 28/05/14. Dark amber with a moderate light beige swirl and edgeing. Nose is toffee, woody notes, dark fruits, vanilla, light booze, figs and dates. Taste comprises caramel, fruit cake mix, light spice, vanilla, bread pudding, dates, light boozey wash through, candied orange peel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, sweet licks in a drying close. Solid barley wine.

2014. Beautiful for a barleywine; solid retention. Caramelized hops, malty sweetness, interesting complexity from the wine barrels. Bit astringent at the end. Opens up as it warms, though; a nice beer.

Great big smell of Carmel, butterscotch, dried prunes, leather. Cloudy caramel colors with a very thin balding but swirly head. Great sweet Carmel flavored big but collected. Perfect body for a barley wine thick with out being to sticky. Don't miss it.

Beautiful ruby reddish amber. Small but fairly lasting beige head. Intoxicating aroma of complex malt, barrel, and fruity hops. Rich caramel and toffee. Bready. Overripe red fruits. Sweet red wine. Outstanding. Flavor follows. Lighter full body. Lower bitterness. Sweetness held in check, just right. Quite dry woodiness on he finish and along with some bread crust really comes through. Some pleasant warmth but no booze. Balanced, rounded, and smooth. Very nice sipper that I could gulp.
