Color is a golden amber with a small off-white head. Flavor is a wonderful balance between malt and hops, biscuity, toasty, a little caramel without being sweet, while still being hop forward. light to medium bodied with a dry finish. A very nice example of an APA. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Deschutes is becoming one of my 30 or so favorite breweries (man I am too into beer). This pale ale toes the India pale ale border enough that I almost want to outsource tech support work to it, but that’s a good thing to a hophead like myself. Amber color with little head. Nice Cascade hop aroma and flavor and decent caramel malt. Reminds me a little bit of Bridgeport IPA, except slightly different hop profile. Medium mouthfeel. Drinkable. Eminently drinkable, I brought several bottles to a gathering of friends along with several other beers. This was by far the quickest to disappear and was appreciated by all, including people who usually don’t like beer. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Unique hop malt combination unlike anything I have ever really experienced. Good very sessionable stuff. Very unique. Try this if you see it. Kenbeer30 (41), Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2009 12 oz bottle. I poured this beer into my favorite beer flute. It pours a bright copper with hints of sunshine. I was able to muster up a 1" head, but it faded fast, with nice lacing. The aroma is muted. Floral hops, but a long way off in the distance. It is interesting that this beer can have such a muted aroma, and deliver the great balanced taste. It is sweet malt in the front, The bitters hit the sides of the palate, and I love the cascade hops finish. Clearly this beer was brewed intentionally to have this great balance. This beer is bordering on great. Boutip (2345), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Bottle: Poured a bright copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of medium citrus hops with a good caramel malt base. Taste is also a good mix between some caramel malt with some lightly citrus and bitter hops. Very refreshing with good carbonation. Very well done for the style.
