NoiZe (1289), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Aug 16, 2008 Tasted @ the Deschutes Brewery and Public House in Portland.
Orange colored brew. Sweet and hoppy. A bit plain. buzzoven (333), Japan Aug 15, 2008 Bottle at Peemkaew, Portland. Poured a clear amber mahogany. Mouthfeel was crisp and clean. Goes down smooth and paired well with the Thai cuisine. apshah99 (137), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 12, 2008 Light copper in color with frothy white head. Citrus aroma with pronounced hops. More grapefruit, mild malt taste with bitter hoppy finish. The watery mouthfeel disappoints. Not bad, but Deschutes can do (and does) much better. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at Break Water Brewing company. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy and slight off-white head. Dense malty and hoppy aroma. Mild butterish and fruity flavour. Caramel malt base flavour. Vague soapy hops finish. Dry and bitter. KimJohansen (6678), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 5, 2008 Cloudy amber with medium beige head. Hoppy aroma with caramel and bpiney notes. Sweet and fairly hoppy flavor with grapefruit, pine and caramel. Ends bitter. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Jul 28, 2008 tap at Draught House. Pours a clear golden-orange with a white head. Nose is mild, earthy hops. Taste is same earthy & floral hops. So-so flavor. Mouthfeel is medium and some bitterness. Ok, but not a great pale ale. WesKBob (320), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 28, 2008 On tap at The Ginger Man in Austin. Poured a clear brownish-orange color with a thin, quickly dissipating head. Mild aroma with notes of citrus and piney hops. Flavor is similarly weak, with grapefruit and slightly malty notes. Finish is watery. Just a so-so beer. DuffMan (2723), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jul 25, 2008 Hazy dark orange amber. Fruity hop aroma (peaches, grapefruit) dominates. Nicely hopped palate with a decent caramel malt base, but a little thin surprisingly, and mine had a faint metallic note in the finish which disappointed a bit. I might have to give this a second chance, as this is the first disappointment I’ve had from Deschutes.
