Nicely hopped palate with a decent caramel malt base, but a little thin surprisingly, and mine had a faint metallic note in the finish which disappointed a bit. I might have to give this a second chance, as this is the first disappointment I’ve had from Deschutes. tuohyam (14), Enumclaw, Washington, USA

Pours a nice clear amber wit nice off-white head. Aroma has a pleasing hoppy floral with nice malt smell. Flavor has a semi sharp tang upfront blending into a nice balanced bitter sweet flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium body and medium carbonation....Overall a very nice beer... Hank1980 (735), Athens, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2008 I always appreciate a pale ale that has some aroma and flavor to it despite the appearance. Mirror Pond has a good hop character and citrusy elements. gunnfryd (3568), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. A clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Almost catpee-ish hops in the nose, but fortunately that’s just some of it, there’s also citrus, pine, grapefruit and a nice grainy maltyness. Grapefruity, citrusy hops with some grains and malty sweetness giving some balance. Long bitter finish. Medium body, still feeling a bit watery. It’s a nice beer, but it feels a bit one-dimentional and watery. Some more malts wouldn’t hurt, but it would maybe affect drinkability, which is high in this beer. (080509)
