Clear, amber-orange pour. Tiny head, but nice laceworks on the glass. A standard American Pale Ale with a decent fruit hoppy nose and a taste profile of dried fruits and malty sweetness. Fine bitter support to the finish (Earls Court, London 05.08.2009). mgermani (863), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Pours a deep brownish-copper with a short-lived head and a thin layer of foam with minimal lacing. Lightly toasted malt aroma with soapy hops. Malty flavour with a touch of toasted malt, nice generic bittering hops with a lingering light bitterness - just a bit of heat & spice. Decent body (crisp) and good carbonation. Very drinkable, doesn’t really shine but probably one of the better straight pale ales I’ve had of late. wcampbell (576), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Very drinkable. Nice piney taste expected in an APA. More balanced toward the malt side, not as hoppy as most. Slightly watery, I thought it could have used some extra strength and body. Lightly dry finish. Definitely not outstanding, just a pretty typical beer. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2009 good pale ale, although it does have a note of travelled-ness coming all the way down here. good strong maltyness, the body is just on the edge of becomming cloying but it pulls it off. nice zesty hoppyness and well balanced bitterness. arrogantb (700), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2009 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Nice hazy orange color with a substantial white head. This looks unfiltered. Smell is some slight hops but not to an IPA level. The taste also has some citrus hoppiness but nowhere near IPA levels. Nice malt background makes this an excellent pale ale. Deschutes is really doing great things with their beers. The drinkability on this beer is pretty awesome.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Pours cloudy orange-amber, with a medium beige head, fine and lasting lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, grass, toffee, peach and citrus. Medium-thin body, velvety, mildly dry and crisp. Flavor starts malty, sweet lemon and caramel, then pine resin, and more citrus. Lots of depth and complexity to the flavors. Has a tiny pleasant hint of sourness, and a lingering mild bitter aftertaste. Nena (136), Seattle, Washington, USA

Has an aroma of citrus rind, some sour lemon, and malt. Has a noticably breadlike grain flavor with moderate herbal cedary hops. Finishes bitter and dry. Quite good and inexpensive.
