iamsancho16 (99), USA Nov 10, 2006 Pretty strong aroma. Can’t really go wrong with anything put out by Deschutes. Good stuff. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 9, 2006 Updated: Sep 22, 2008GABF-on tap-pours a thick offwhite head with hazy amber color. Taste is citrus with flatness.
080919- rerate 12oz bottle 3.4 MMMBEERLS (18), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 7, 2006 Bottle pours a darker amber than I think most in amber style. Head is thick off-white with good retention. Nose is full of citrus lemon. Flavor has a nice balance with bready toffee sweetness in the finish. Overall an average at best Pale Ale with a slighlty weak body. lipscomb216 (78), USA Nov 5, 2006 Aroma of an unmolested pine forest. Pours a hazy orange-amber. Taste of grapefruits and pine, real sweet going down. Another quality APA from a distinctly good brewer. WHY DO PEOPLE DRINK BUD OR COORS WITH THIS KIND OF BEER AVAILABLE?????? ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Nov 4, 2006 Another textbook APA for the region. It’s really hard to identify the differences. Semi hazy amber body. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, other fruits. Another solid and tasty APA... but it’s almost to the point of comparing to Bud to Miller on a different level... 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Nov 2, 2006 This pale ale pours a dark amber color that settles a light amber color with a creamy, white head. Mostly lasting head, cloudy body. Aroma is of light yeast, and a moderate amount of hop presence. Initial taste is light sweet, with a moderately bitter finish with average duration. No carbonation in the finish, it goes down smooth and creamy. LyndaNova (492), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Oct 20, 2006 Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a cloudy medium orange color with a minimal amount of white bubbles around the edges of the glass. Aroma and taste are of floral hops and sweet malt with notes of caramel and citrus. Moderate carbonation. Moderately bittersweet ending with light sour notes. IdahoJizake (10), Nampa, Idaho, USA Oct 18, 2006 Medium to dark copper with a yellowish, frothly head that hangs around for quite a while. Wonderfully hoppy and floral for a pale ale. Thick, well carbonated mouth-feel with a zippy, tangy taste. Very well balanced. Light syrupy aftertaste that lingers in the back of the throat for a long time. This is my favorite pale ale and has a permanent spot in my fridge.
