cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Jun 18, 2006 Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a light head. Light carbonation. Nice citrus hop aroma. Has some nice hop flavoring with some malt sweetness to back it it up. Smooth medium body beer. A good beer. JohnnyJ (1282), Carlsbad, California, USA Jun 14, 2006 Updated: Feb 16, 2007A decent pale ale, although nothing special. hopy citrus flavor with notes of caramel. I almost thought it was a little weak compared to other APA’s out there. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA Jun 13, 2006 Another winner from Deschutes Brewery! Great malt and hop flavors come thru in this pale ale. Nice deep amber color with medium head. Good full bodied taste. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Jun 12, 2006 Bottle. Pours burnt orange, small and diminishing off white head. Very minimal lacing. Aromas of ctirus hops and some caramel. Small grapefruit hop taste and a slight bit of banana as it warms. Medium body, finishes bitter. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 5, 2006 Outside of a huge head and some great lacing, this beer wasn’t all that memorable. A definite hops presence in the aroma and flavor, this one mixes in with the rest of your pale ale / IPA selections out there. Try it if you can, but if you can’t…. KyleMac5 (16), Bellingham, Washington, USA May 30, 2006 Is a pretty nice pale ale. Has a rich amber color and leaves a nice hoppy aftertaste in your mouth. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA May 28, 2006 Hazy amber with a small beige head. Hoppy citrus aroma; flavor hoppy with a bitter finish. Carbonated mouthfeel. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA May 28, 2006 From a 12 oz. hop embossed brown bottle with a best by date on the left of label, 08/09/06.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy orange hued copper with a foamy white that settled into a thin creamy lacing, minimal amount of sticking, moderate carbonation.
Had a floral and citric hop nose with a little sweet breadiness at the edges.
A lightly crisp, creamy smooth medium body, very good drinkability.
Leafy citric hoppiness at the forefront, a soft hop coarseness on the tongue, followed by a fruit bite then a sugary maltiness and a dry citric and grain bready finish.
A very nice APA from Deschutes, tasty and balanced, highly quaffable.
