muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Mar 13, 2006 12 oz bottle, BBD 05/24/06, obtained in trade with Larry Pitonka...thanks! Imbibed at cellar temperature from an Allagash stem glass. Thick lacing is left in the glass as the white large-bubbled head slowly wastes away atop the hazy copper body....nose of unripe grapefruit and very light cedar, surprisingly weak....flavor is a well-balanced construction between deep caramel and pale malts and sharp citrus, with an odd hint of maple...slightly oaky throughout as well....body a bit too watery, but nicely carbonated, clean and pleasant. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Mar 12, 2006 Updated: Jan 26, 2007Draft: Orange and copper pour with lots of white head and nice lacing. Nose of citrus hops and sweetness. Taste is a citrus and floral hop medley with some sweet malt and fruitiness. Nice dry finish. Steadily turning into one of my favorite locally (region) brewed ales.
pivo (2535), Germany Mar 12, 2006 Doughy nose, amber color, fluffy head. Malty base with hints of apple. Light fresh hop bite that builds on itself through the glass. Gritty feel. Odd balance. Not so exciting, but not so bad either. CAmes (32), Snohomish, Washington, USA Mar 7, 2006 A solid daily drinker. Great pale ale. This might be just as hoppy as Deschutes’s IPA. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Mar 6, 2006 Thanks Saarlander!!!! Dark orange, nearly brown color, small layer of a head. Nice flowery and doughy nose. Apples, pine and Cascade hops in taste - medium intense. Very nice. Iike it! dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 28, 2006 Updated: Mar 20, 2006Bottle. Nice light tan head that lasts. Very balanced hop/malt flavor. Cascades could be the perfect hop. Perfect finish leaving you wanting more. chargerfanjess (116), San Diego, California, USA Feb 24, 2006 Copper colored very filtered look with tiny little bubbles. sticky lacing white head. Nice creamy bitter initial hop (orange peel) flavor. this then becomes more malty twards the finish. There is also a slight metalic (tin) flavor left on the tongue. A nice solid hoppy pale ale. Medium mouth. Quite nice.
Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 10, 2006 Pour is hazy amber with a nice dense tan head...smell is hoppy with lots of citrus notes and some nice toasted bread aromas in there...taste is light and sweet at first, then a nice warmth of hops...slightly sticky sweet finish...
