The finishing hops are a little more prominent in this brew, mostly due to lack of underlying complexity. Nice golden/copper color, but quite unexceptional activity and head. Very good nonetheless! All of the Deschutes’ brews that I’ve tried (Twilight and IPA) have offered a very interesting and satisfying change of pace. Not mainstream, but very good. amalsugar (41), Tremonton, Utah, USA

It is not a beer a drink often, but whenever I do it is a pleasure. It is a well balance beer, maybe a bit more hoppy that might be expected. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2005 I was lucky enough to have this on tap as a cast aged brew. Dark golden color with a citrus aroma. Thought this would be like an IPA, but was pleasantly surprised at it’s smooth well balance taste. If in Portland, try this at Horse Brass. You won’t be disappointed. tjthresh (1767), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Color goes from bright gold on the edges to burnt orange in the center of the glass. Lots of visable carbonation. Thin white head, though it lasted through the entire beer. Pretty hazy. Typical grapefruit aroma. Buscuit and cara malts are also evident. Quite bitter with lots of grapefruit hop flavor. Sweet. Pretty thin. Lots of bubbles across the tounge. Run of the mill. Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2005 Bottled, unfortunately close to best by date. Sweet, lightly fruity aroma, some honey and flowers with the lighter scents of grapefruit and tangerine. Light-medium golden amber color, a bit hazy, with a subsiding, thin head. Flavor is geared primarily towards the hoppiness, which is present in varying quantities from beginning to end, supported marginally by the toasty, sweetish malts, the finish yielding juicy, citric, piney hop flavors, but only to a mderate degree. The mouthfeel seems somewhat thin here, the body light-medium. Probably hurt by its lack of freshness, although it is still within the assumed 3 month period of its sojourn from the brewery to points elsewhere. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA
