Nice palate grippoing APA. Enters into that "is it an APA or IPA?" category. Full of lush hop notes, a very pale and muted malt flavor. Like a lot of Deschutes beers, this one hits the nail on the head and then some. Notes of pine and citrus.

This is a pretty classic pale ale and used to be one of my go to beer from the PNW if I was out on premise somewhere and wanted a consistent reliable beer. I have tried so many better beers since those days, that though now while still a good beer is no longer one of my go to’s. A very good sessionable pale, with nice citrus hop notes typical of the cascade used, well balanced caramel maltiness, extremely well balanced to a fault.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of cascade hops, and some malts. Poured orange amber in color with a small, beige head that diminished but lasted as a film on top of the beer. Lightly hazy. Slightly sparkling. A few small particles. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, malts, and slight caramel. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly bitter, hopy finish is dry. A very boring, average, APA.

Had a pint off the tap at a sushi restaurant in Portland Oregon. Lovely bronze color, fine, long-lived head, sweet aroma. Avoids the pitfalls of other pale ales - by which I means it tastes of hops, but not overpoweringly so. Actually, I hate hops and this is the first time I’ve ever had a beer with a distinct hope flavor that I liked. A solid, all around pale ale.

Pourd reddish brown with decent head that dessappeard rapidly. No real lacing at all. Carbonation was decent with a fruity nose and foretaste. Barely any hop presence. Just a so so beer
