junon (119), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Feb 13, 2008 Not terribly aromatic just the typical thats for the style. Smells good though. I like this beer as it is really easy ot drink. Not blown away by this but I would have no problem drinking it given the chance. Also really does have that lingering hoppy taste. Deschutes is a solid brewery.
DuffMan (1890), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 25, 2008 Hazy dark orange amber. Fruity hop aroma (peaches, grapefruit) dominates. Nicely hopped palate with a decent caramel malt base, but a little thin surprisingly, and mine had a faint metallic note in the finish which disappointed a bit. I might have to give this a second chance, as this is the first disappointment I’ve had from Deschutes. tuohyam (14), Enumclaw, Washington, USA Jul 13, 2008 Decent for a pale ale. Doesn’t blow you away. Mirror Pond is very average for a microbrew pale ale. Swalden_28 (516), McKinney, Texas, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle from Kegs & Barrells in McKinney, TX.
Pours a nice clear amber wit nice off-white head. Aroma has a pleasing hoppy floral with nice malt smell. Flavor has a semi sharp tang upfront blending into a nice balanced bitter sweet flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium body and medium carbonation....Overall a very nice beer... Hank1980 (327), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 6, 2008 Poured clear light brown with white head. Aroma of mild hops & citrus. Flavor of citrus hops, caramel malt, and light spice malts. Body is medium with light carbonation. Finish is a little bitter, though not overly so. Hophead22 (88), Redlands, California, USA Jul 4, 2008 bottle. Just a darn good pale ale. Fresh hop aroma, nice orangeish hue. Not too bitter, very nice.
