This is base camp, where any craft brew exploration begins. A distinct hop nose and hop-forward flavor make Mirror Pond the quintessential Pale Ale. It is aromatically complex, multi-layered, and unmistakably “right.”

This is a solid American Pale Ale, being rather light but still characterful and fairly well balanced. Slightly reddish deep gold, it has a medium, pale tan head that shirnks steadily to a foamy lasting ring and wisps. It has a hint of lace. Aroma’s light toasty grain, citrus, leaves, dust, and hay. It tastes similar, with lightly toasty grain with hint of caramelized bread, faintly burnt grapefruit and orange peel, green leaves. It has light sweetness balanced with light bitterness. It’s a bit too strong on the grapefruity-citrusy hops, making it seem slightly one-dimensional and mundane, but still has some complexity and balance underneath.

Moderate hop aroma, with earthy, floral, and caramel notes. Pours a clear amber with a quickly fading white head. Very full flavored, with a kiss of caramel sweetness which then goes to the hop notes. Flavors of citrus, and floral notes predominate, which slowly fade to a lingering bitter finish. A very nice APA to sit down and have a couple of.

Complex and full of hop aromas and a good hop flavor but there is more to it than just that. It is artful in the simplicity and yet pages could be written about it. I am a fan of the brewery in general and this beer in particular.

Bottle. Hazy copper with thin head. Light aroma or resinous hops and malt. Medium body, strong malt presence upfront, resinous hop bitterness, a hint of caramel, and some mineral notes.

I’ve had these many times on tap up north and always really liked them. Drinking this one out of a bottle. Big nose of hops and citrus, some caramel. Tastes quite balanced.

On tap at the Wagon Wheel. Slightly dull aroma, lacks "pop". Hazy light yellow pour. Taste is good, juicy and piney at the same time. Low bitterness, balanced for easy drinking. Will get again.
