COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is base camp, where any craft brew exploration begins. A distinct hop nose and hop-forward flavor make Mirror Pond the quintessential Pale Ale. It is aromatically complex, multi-layered, and unmistakably “right.”

This is my favorite American Pale Ale, period. When I die, I want this poured on me grave...preferably NOT strained through me mate’s kidneys!

Nice piney aroma with slight citrus notes. A refreshing pale ale with a nice mouthful of hops. Finishes with bitter hoppiness. Overall a pretty good beer!

12 oz bottle pours a slightly cloudy gold color with a nice off white head. Aroma of pine and sweet citrus hops. Taste is similar with a hint of grass/ hay. Just the right amount of bitterness for the style. Great pale ale! And one of my stand-bys.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nearly clear medium copper with just a thin white head that fades away to a bit of wispy lacing on top of the beer. Nothing on the sides of the glass. Aroma of peach and cherries with maybe a touch of grape. It is definitely fruity but not necessarily tropical. Some hints of caramel as well. The flavor carries the same fruitiness found in the aroma with subtle hints of strawberry, peach, and cherry. There is a strong grain note in the base that I have noticed with other Deschutes Brews. It provides a nice contrast to the hops although borders on being too much. Bitterness is light leading to a palate cleansing finish. Overall, not a bad APA although I feel like it is rated a little higher than it should be. The graininess is just a little too much but I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this up again.

Bottle while in Vancouver. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is lightly malty with lemon and pine. Light body, medium carbonation. Light caramel, light wood, light pine, lemon, a little orange and a hint of metal. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Look: pours a burnt orange color. Slightly off white head. Very clear. Smell: caramel toffee. Slight hop aroma. Malty. Taste: more malt than expected. Caramel. Toffee. Slight bitterness on the front. Bitter citrus peel as it warms up. Feel: medium carbonation. Leaves a strange film on the mouth. Slight dryness. Overall: not as much hop as I like. Ok beer. Comparable to a English IPA. First drank: home 9/1/14

nose: oh man, this smells FRESH. like barely cut wild grass by the highway, plus a vineyard [white grape] note, all after a summer storm! there’s also tangelo, raspberry and sauvignon blanc. !!! palate: more on the herbal side. grapefruit and lemon poke their heads here and there and retreat behind the prominent salad green flavors. bitterness is appropriate and measured. that sauv blanc pungency (a little bit like vinaigrette) also shows up at the back end, and a little bit of citrusy sweetness. everything is kept in more or less perfect balance. impressive! finish is all the mix gradually trailing off. very satisfying.

Pours a clear light amber, with thick long lasting head. Smells of floral hops. Taste of bread/crackers dominate with a floral hop finish. Well balanced beer.
