This is base camp, where any craft brew exploration begins. A distinct hop nose and hop-forward flavor make Mirror Pond the quintessential Pale Ale. It is aromatically complex, multi-layered, and unmistakably “right.”

I was highly unimpressed with this beer. To call this an American Pale ale is a farce in my book as it tasted almost like nothing...if it didn’t look so great and feel so good in my mouth I would drink it, move on and never come back. Nose is faint malt. Maris Otter...a little maybe. Crisp cracker like notes and a little bit of brwon sugar style sweetness...boring. Hops promised are nonexistent. If I didn’t get a fresh bottle this beer would maybe be great but as it stands it is awful...truly

nose: oh man, this smells FRESH. like barely cut wild grass by the highway, plus a vineyard [white grape] note, all after a summer storm! there’s also tangelo, raspberry and sauvignon blanc. !!! palate: more on the herbal side. grapefruit and lemon poke their heads here and there and retreat behind the prominent salad green flavors. bitterness is appropriate and measured. that sauv blanc pungency (a little bit like vinaigrette) also shows up at the back end, and a little bit of citrusy sweetness. everything is kept in more or less perfect balance. impressive! finish is all the mix gradually trailing off. very satisfying.

On tap at GH, Uppsala. Cloudy orange with white head. Aroma and taste has lots of citrus, grapefruit and pine with a nice malt and caramel backbone.

Pours a clear light amber, with thick long lasting head. Smells of floral hops. Taste of bread/crackers dominate with a floral hop finish. Well balanced beer.

The aroma is pretty non-descript, not much hoppines, seem to catch hints of malts a slight caramel and bread. Pours a clear copper with fully diminishing off white head and good lacing. The taste is light bitter. The body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation average and the finish bitter. OK, pretty plain-Jane.

Suprisingly dark appearance, but with appealing foam. Smells like a classic APA with light citrus and pine. Flavor is quite different, much more herbal hop profile. Toffee sweet malts with some honey flavors come in strong. Lingering bread, fruit, and bitterness. Maybe a little thin in the mouth but good carbonation. Good, although I think I would categorize it more as an English Pale Ale.

Bottle: Super cloudy, dense orange-amber color with a soft, ecru foam with a big-bubbled collar that leaves some generous lacing behind. Aroma of some toasted, bready malt, hints of grapefruit zest, perfume, & moderate juicy orange flesh. A touch of leafy hoppiness towards the finish. Taste has a nice orange rind & orange flesh combo up front, giving you both moderate sweetness & a nice, balancing bitter bite. Light perfume, a touch of stale toasted malts, light grapefruit, & some pale malt sweetness. Gets a little watery towards the finish; lingering leafy hop presence. Nothing mind blowing, but a pretty solid pale ale, albeit maybe a little mild within the style.

This was a very good pale ale. Great citrusy hops and nutty/bready malts. Light to medium body. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Hints of cereal malts with heavy floral and resin hop aromas. Appearance: Cloudy orange with a rich, tan head. Taste: Light bitterness balance by a medium sweetness. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation, mild finish. Overall: A nice, quaffable beer. Very well balanced. Went great with my blackened steak.
