COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is base camp, where any craft brew exploration begins. A distinct hop nose and hop-forward flavor make Mirror Pond the quintessential Pale Ale. It is aromatically complex, multi-layered, and unmistakably ďright.Ē

I was highly unimpressed with this beer. To call this an American Pale ale is a farce in my book as it tasted almost like nothing...if it didnít look so great and feel so good in my mouth I would drink it, move on and never come back. Nose is faint malt. Maris Otter...a little maybe. Crisp cracker like notes and a little bit of brwon sugar style sweetness...boring. Hops promised are nonexistent. If I didnít get a fresh bottle this beer would maybe be great but as it stands it is awful...truly

Nice beer. Slight hoppy aroma. Pretty caramel color with a light palate. Some spicy hops throughout but subtle with a sweet and caramel undertone. Easy to drink.

Surprisingly, one of the best beers and Iíve had in some time. I wasnít expecting it. In fact, I bought a mixed 6 pack of 6 different beers I hadnít tried before. I had 3 New Belgium Brewery beers and 2 Deschutes Brewery beers picked and was looking for a 6th beer. The only reason I grabbed the Mirror Pond was because it balanced the selection with 3 from each brewery. As odd as that probably sounds, that was the informed thought process that led me to this beer. It worked out great. Next time I think Iíll wear a blindfold when I choose beers. Everything about this beer was exceptional, from the appearance, the smell, the taste, mouth feel... However, it was slightly, (VERY slightly) a little dry and grainy in the finish for my tastes, and the after taste was a 9 or a 9.5 out of 10 for me. Other than that, a very well balanced, enjoyable session ale. Definitely on my top 10 list of all-time favorites now.

Drank beer about 3 weeks before the best before date. I got a sweet, crystal almost sour note. No hops. Thankfully not an oxidized crystal malt flavor but sweet with no hops. Either old or just not very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
