Pours clear dark - black with thick frothy beige - yellowish head.
Aroma is malty with some very nice roasted coffee.
Taste of caramel malt with the coffee being distinct and flavorful, reminiscent of mocha.
After taste is lightly hoppy with a good floral finish.
At 6.4abv, the overall mouthfeel was warming.
An amazing treat.

Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060808) 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 20, 2008 Great looking pour, black with a thick creamy beige froth. Great aroma of molasses, oats and chocolate with lots of very fruity hops. Floral perfumy first taste overtop chocolate and creamy oats with a hint of burnt molasses/brown sugar and deep roasted coffee. Medium mouthful, very smooth and kind of airy, lots of smooth fluffy carbonation. Its a very good beer with hints of tasty stuff, however, it leaves the mouth wanting a little more of each flavor. Perfumy aftertaste. Praetorian (86), Los Angeles, California, USA Dec 17, 2008 Black in color with a medium light brown head. The aroma is of Swiss chocolate and coffee grounds with a hint of tobacco and sugar. The flavor is smoky and sweet with a chocolate overtone. The texture is creamy. A very good stout.
