Dec 27, 2007 (Draught) Sampled at Taphouse in Seattle. A rather expensive sampler at $9.95 for four 4-ounce samples. Great whipped brown head with an opaque body. Nose of creamy coffee. Flavour is fruity and bound with coffee. Strange.

Dec 26, 2007 Decent sized brown head of dense and creamy bubbles. Light coffee, roasted grains, decaying grass and some lactose notes. Color is a essentially black. Sweet and roasty flavor. Medium bodied with more milky notes, dark chocolate and a little bit of herbal hops presence. Dry and pasty mouthfeel. Finishes roasty with a lingering bitterness. A decent stout.

Dec 24, 2007 Aroma rich, almost smoky. Color is about as black as it gets. Head is brown but weak. Flavor is strong, deep, rich malt and moderate bitter. Creamy palate with a sparkle of citrus aftertaste. Well worth many repeats.

Dec 23, 2007 Nitro pour in San Francisco - Black color with a medium but persistent head. Aroma is a nice chocolate/roasty mix that gives the impression of dry and sweet together. Flavor is very roasty, dry/sweet, chocolatey - lots of good stuff going on here, but the nitro detracted from the flavor in my opinion. solid stout that I will have to re-rate with a bottle.

Dec 20, 2007 12-oz. Wow, didn’t realize until last night that I hadn’t rated this, and I had also forgotten just how good this one really is. Black with a thick, rocky burnt tan head of great depth and swiss-cheese-hole-having-ness. Settles quickly to awesome webby lace and a nice splatch of film across the top. Big peppery, herb-like hop nose. Delicious. No other beer smells quite like this. Thinking this must be a very fresh bottle. Medium, tingly-carbed body. Roasty, charry, peppery, spicy mid-palate. Dang, this is really, really good. Lingering pepper and pine finish.

Dec 19, 2007 Bottle.
Pours a thick, pitch black body with a medium-sized creamy tan-brown head. The aroma consists of quality bittersweet chocolate, some tobacco, toffee, and cookie dough.
This stuff is insanely silky and quite flavourful. Flavour has bitter roast, cocoa, and a fair amount of hop chewiness. Finishes with some light ashy oat and resin notes.
The parents picked this up sometime in the summer of 2007.

Dec 17, 2007 a fine looking stout that poured black with a small head.Roasted notes on the nose.The mouthfeel was creamy.Flavors of roasted coffee with a slight bitterness.
