Full flavored and medium to full bodied this is a great stout that does not make a meal in itself. It pours black with a nice head. Aromas are dominated by chocolate andf malts, more of that in the flavor department with hops added for balance. puzzl (2599), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2006 Fresh beets, peanut butter, burnt wood, more peanut butter. Pours with a huge, delicious brown head. Taste is very nutty, kinda rough, lactose shows up with burnt peanut butter (chunky), slight lemon maybe. A pretty unique tasting stout, IMO, with the strong peanut presence that I’ve never really seen before. A very fine offering, and my first from this brewery. bitbucket (2030), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours an opaque black brown, with a rocky/lacy brown head. The aroma has all the stuff I look for: coffee, chocolate, roasty malt, and just a bit of vanilla. The body is medium full with light carbonation, and a creamy/oily mouthfeel. The taste starts lighlty sweet with the same elements as found in the nose. The finish is hoppily bitter with some coffee and a bite of burnt toast. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA

The flavor is very nice, the bitter coffee and chocolate is balanced nicely with the roastiness of the malt. Good hop bitterness as well. A very good stout. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
