beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA Jun 27, 2005 Bottle, rating from old notes. Dark opaque pour. Huge coffee aroma. Roasted malty flavor, more roasted coffee, and a noted small but there hop presence. Somewhat bitter end. porterdude (170), Bellingham, Washington, USA Jun 2, 2005 On nitro @ Archer Ale House. Great tan head that lasts and lasts and lasts. Aroma of roasted coffe and chocolate. Very full and rich flavor, with hints of caramel, massive chocolate and a slight bitter tinge of black coffee. There are hops here, but on nitro the hop flavor is very subdued. If you can get this brew on nitro, you must! It adds a whole new dimension to a well crafted stout. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 1, 2005 Black color with a tan head around the edges. Mild coffee aroma. Full rich body. Very smooth. Bitter coffee flavor that lingers. Nice Stout. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA May 6, 2005 Aroma of roasted malts, mainly chocolate. Black body witha creamy tan head. Had a rich roasted chocolate flavor that was good for the palate. Agood stout. asheft (1374), Marburg, Germany Apr 29, 2005 Opaque jet with a wormy dark and light brown, creamy head that formed good lacing. Floral aroma from both hops and esters mingle to make a candy/gummi bear aroma that changes into a creamy and meaty dark malt aroma. The flavour is also creamy with plenty of roasted malt and quite a bit of coffee accent and pear notes. It tastes a little salty, but not unpleasantly so, and the roasted coffee flavour lingers. Medium to full body with a lasting bitterness from the dark malt. Medium carbonation. Excellent stout. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Apr 27, 2005 12 oz bottle.
