neocon (34), Gold Canyon, Arizona, USA Apr 23, 2005 Really like this stout. Pours black with half in dark tan head. Smells like triple expresso. Nice roasted malt. I’ll be buying more of Obsidian. doostinjcap (43), Newport, Oregon, USA Apr 20, 2005 Great Stout. Very dark and very dank! The coffee and chocolate taste are delicious. Beware though, the taste gets almost too intense after a while. Overall an A+ stout! mobrew (19), Oregon, USA Apr 16, 2005 Nice - black color with a beige head. You can taste coffee, chocolate and it is very smooth with just enough hops to make it a very complex beverage. GREAT cold weather beer. Macanudo (14), USA Apr 3, 2005 Not bad for an American Stout. A little strong right out of the bottle. Needs a little bit of air in order to mellow. Very strong coffee flavor but that lessens as the beer warms up. jackamackson (127), USA Mar 21, 2005 nice dark black pour with a big tan foamy head. aroma is coffee, licorice, etc. taste is coffee, smoky, bitter at the end, but pretty sweet/sour as well. avg stout mouthfeel but kinda bubbly. this is a pretty good example of a stout, not amazing but pretty solid. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 16, 2005 Poured a deep black brown color. Roasted aroma with notes of coffee. Flavor was heavily roasted with a light tang. Bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Mar 2, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a black body with a small creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, and some coffee. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a bitter finish. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Feb 19, 2005 12oz - Strong smell of burnt coffee, malt, and chocolate. Black with a medium brown head that dissaptes quickly. Still a little lacing. Taste is smokey choco-malt coffee that lingers for a good amount of time. A nice drinkable stout that I will get again.
