4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into tulip glass with a best by: 7/28/12. Glad I noticed this since it is 7/15/12
Appearance: Big beautiful 2 to 2&1/2 finger size head that is khaki color with tight condensed bubbles. It is a dark black beer with absolutley no light penetration through this beer. The lacing on this is ridiculous as I swirl the glass it really sticks to the side. I was taken by the head that formed on this. Awesome!
Smell: Upfront is the espresso and toasted malts along with dark chocolate and nuts. I get some slight molasses and some fairly noticable hops.
Taste: Roasted malts big time! Some bitter chocolate and mild coffee present. A noticable bitter hoppy finish for a stout that prevents any overly sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Somewhat thin for a stout and rather carbonated. Not slick or viscous but that is nice on this one because it makes it highly drinkable.
Overall: This is a nice change of pace stout for me. Slightly hoppy and roasted goodness through and through. Low abv makes this easy to drink and that is apparent as my glass is nearing empty and only after about 10 minutes.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from bottle (best by 9/30/13) into snifter, served at 52 degrees.
Appearance - dark, dark brown. Thick mocha head has great retention.
Aroma - dark chocolate, espresso, and roasted barley
Taste - a dry bitterness gives way to a slight dark chocolate sweetness and finishes dry and bitter.
Mouthfeel - medium body with good carbonation.
Overall - a world class stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 bottle thanks to Crajun. Amazing aroma of deep dark malt, coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate. Flavor is equally dark and filled with many wonderful accents. I taste sweet chocolate, espresso beans, black licorice, and a mild bitter hop finish. Well put together stout!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this on Nitro at St. Augustineís. Not entirely impressive. Pours jet black with carpet head and lacing. Creamy texture. Aroma has roast malt and a twang of hops. Finishes very light - with only a nutty bitterness and some sourness. Aroma has coffee as well.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from trade with crajun. Pours pitch black with a 1 finger head that fades normally, leaves some lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt, burnt coffee, dark chocolate, and a little smoke. Taste is intense but still very easy to drink. Lots of burnt coffee and bitter dark chocolate. Smooth finish with lots of roast and a little smoke. Thin to medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Really good stout here. Intense and goes down smooth but would be hard to drink more than one in a sitting.
