Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours dark black with a brownish tint. Thin mocha head that lingers. Aroma is lightly charred malts and earthy hops. Taste is creamy bitter black roasty malts. Rich but not overly so. Finishes hoppy and bitter. Nice low ABV (relatively speaking...), this is very easy drinking and sessionable. Not heavy bodied, which you might expect. For a straight up, plain old, not imperial, chocolate, coffee, belgian, whatever stout, this is as good as it gets.

Beer looks great and smells very good but tastes terrible. Even worse is the after taste. It just lingers and hits you in the back of the tongue. Stay away from this beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very very good stout! Beautiful head and lacing. Quality beer very evident. Hoppiness is a pleasant surprise. Won world’s best stout for a reason!
