Very good stout, doesn’t have the flavor of an oatmeal stout but it really that s top quality nonetheless. It would go great with a steak or beef in general and be incredible with bbq pork.

On nitro at Tap Shack in Newport Beach , CA.
Opaque, brown-black with a large tan head and excellent lacing.
Heavenly aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, leather, strawberries, toffee and pleasant citrusy and fruit scents.
Taste of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, toffee, coffee, leather, strawberries, toffee and molasses.

Nitro draft @ Hopleaf . Just looking at this beer makes me want to chug it down. Thick full tan head that looks alive after it is poured. Black tar looking color. Smells of roasted charred malts, chocolate, dark fruit and barley. Taste of dark roasted grain hints of plums, dark / bitter chocolate, and traces of coffee dregs. Finish has a large amount of dry roast. The sweetness from the malts with the dry roasted finish works really well together. The Nitro provides a creamy, full bodied mouthfeel. For a standard stout being under the imperial qualification, this is damn good!

Very roasty aroma, deep and dark. Toast, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa. A bit of char and some earthy tastes, then a long and smooth finish. Not quite creamy or thick, but still full enough.

Wow. Delicious. Pours out as black as engine oil with a mocha tan head. Aroma is coffee and barley, very potent. The taste is dark roasted coffee and black licorice that melds together very well, but the best part of this beer is the amazing mouth-feel, like heavy cream. I’ll be looking for this again.

Bottle at Monks. Very dark pour. Light tan foam. Expected chocolate/coffee stout flavors with some slight spicy hops for balance. Well mixed stout. Maybe a bit slight though.

Black like coal with the perfect thick tan creamy head. Aroma and taste of bitter roast grains. Coffee, chocolate immediately come to mind. Deserving of it’s score for sure. Another beauty from Deschutes.
