| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Pitch black color with a medium head. A pretty strong roasted malt aroma with a little nuttiness. Big, thick, roasted malt flavor. Nothing crazy, nothing subtle. Just a solidly bitter malt taste with a little chocolate on the end. Nice. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2006 Big thanks to Kenb for hooking me up here on one damn fine stout. I actually had never really known or heard much about this beer, which is good, because I just went ahead and rated it without any preconceptions- and I was pleasantly surprised. Pours a very deep dark black with a nice fluffy lasting beige head- that never dies. Aroma is a sharp dry acrid roast character that defines a well made stout- light hints of chocolate and coffee in the background. Light sweetness and toffee in the flavor, with more nutty chocalate and dark malts with a great dry roast finish. Smooth body and aftertaste. Damn- I wish I had more of this.
