Dark roasted hops and malt in the nose with a burnt coffe flavor. Excellent for those who likes blacker than black stouts. I love this beer. A must have for stout fans. Plums, figs, blackberries, and other dark fruits may sneak up on your tastebuds after a few sips. An excellent beer, I’ll have another please! runaway (24), Seattle, Washington, USA

Light smokey feel with a wonderful balance on roasted malts some light pine hops and a dark creamy texture with strong tobacco hints. Served warmer and it really opened this up in its full glory Doctormirk (100), USA

Very roasted, sweet chocolate. Mellow, calm and fulfilling. Not overly dimensional, bold and delivering. Creamy, slightly acidic in the finish. Somewhat earthy. Hint of alcohol. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Black body, nice cascading head of a couple fingers. Modest tan lacing with nice retention.
Extremely roasty, more coffee than chocolate.
Sweet chocolate in the front of the palate with a huge dose of roasted coffee in the back. Finish is dry with a roasty bitterness.
Carbonation is great, body is rich enough to support the big flavors. Easy to have several in a sitting.
