4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Coming out of rating retirement for this one because it so worthy. Aroma is roasty chocolatey goodness, with hints of coffee and burnt sugar. Pours nearly black, with a thick tan head. Flavor is deep, dark roasted malt, coffee, again some burnt sugar, maybe some molasses. Mouth is full bodied, thick and chewey, with a lasting bitterness. Under appreciated, up there with the best stouts.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pure black, thick mocha head and strong lacing. Dark chocolate, espresso and roasted malt aromas. Similar flavours of dark chocolate, espresso and roasted malt, made more complex with just a lick of smoke and and underlying savouriness. Spicy hops and a long, bitter finish, coupled with a smooth, perfectly carbonated mouthfeel make this a highly drinkable, fantastic stout.

On nitro at Stouts. Dark black pour with a thick and creamy tan head. Malty chocolate goodness in the nose. Starts a touch sweet, then coffee, bitter chocolate and just a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Excellent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Black pour with a nice mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, some roasty malt and a touch of dark fruit. Flavour is espresso and dark chocolate with some more roasty malt, bitter at first but sweetening as it warms. Fairly full-bodied for a stout. One of the best regular stouts, in my opinion - very nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells of chocolate, roasted malt. Pours black with a tan head. Tastes bold, slightly bitter, not sweet, roasted malt. Heavy body, moderate carbonation dry finish.
A good solid stout, however a little more one dimensional than I would have thought, but is nails the profile on that dimension. Being a higher than normal ABV, I would expect a few more bright notes, but the malt is the most prevalent feature about the beer.
