12 oz bottle. Finally rating this beer. This is a regular vistor to my house. Pours black with a thin creamy head. After the first sip you can taste the roasty malt, chocolate and espresso. Full bodied and the mouthfeel is sticky. The lack of aroma is the only reason this did not recieve a rating of 4+.

Jul 18, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a pleasant malty aroma. There is a very rich flavor of chocolate and coffee. There are no notable flaws in this brew, making it a great value for the style.

Jul 13, 2008 A great stout and incredible for the money. I always go back to this beer again and again. It is yet another example of the flawless brewing of Deschutes.

Jul 2, 2008 Aromas of cereal grains, vegetable, molasses, licorice, charcoal and vanilla with floral hops backing. Kinda reminds me of rootbeer.
Flavors of dark chocolate, smoky coffee, charred malts, and nuts. Some dark winey/fruity notes; cherry and plum.
Creamy palate, lots of bubbly. Dry finish.

Jun 29, 2008 Pours a dark dirt/tar, chocolate brpown with tan head that dissipates to a tan lacing. Aroma is nutty, chocolaty and malty. Strong coffee flavor with roasted malts. Body is mild and medium.
