(Pronounced Old Sah – win) Classified as a strong ale, it has a light body with some malty sweetness from crystal malts. It has an orangish color from small amounts of black & roasted malts. Hopped throughout including dry hopping w/ Willamette hops giving it a bit of a hoppy bite. This ale is named after the god of death “Sam Hain”, and is available during Hallowen, of course.

Nitro tap @ their Portland Public House... Poured orange with a thick, frothy head. Mild aroma of malted grains. Foamy, soft palate with cracker and biscuit flavors and spicy hops and malt towards the finish. Reminded me of a British session bitter.

Halloween beer tasted on Jan 3 at the brewery tap in Portland. Nitro. Clear golden color with large thick white head. Not much aroma. Very creamy, like a Boddingtons but with less body, less hops, and less character overall.
