3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the Deschutes Brewery, Bend, OR.
Clear golden colour with a small white head.
Mild pine, mild sweetness and mild bitterness in the aroma.
Bitter resiny and piney hoppy flavour with sweet maltiness.
I was expecting even more extreme pine elements in this one.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deschutes doesnít make a bad beer, but this isnít my favorite of their IPAs. All hops and scarcely any malts makes for an overly bitter brew, even to a hophead. Or maybe itís the "hop x," idk.
Pours mostly clear light orange. Aroma is nice, citrus peel, pine of course. Taste as mentioned is very dry and bitter, some orange and more citrus peel. Finish drys the palate, which is unfortunate. Would be better paired with a cheese or some such. Still, itís not bad at all and Iíll will drink it gladly if not seek it out again.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear in appearance. Gold in color with a thick, bubbley white head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma consist of a dominant orange zest. Piney with slight banana aromas. Slick texture with low carbonation. Not as hoppy of a taste as i was hoping. Very dry feel. Does leave a slight bitter finish. Overall a drinkable beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
with a name like this i expect to smell pine but i donít, resin okay, with some caramel and grassy green. Clear yellow with a green-amber tinge, thin white head. What am i tasting, butter, hereís some pine, syrup without maple, almost camphor deeper in the gullet. A forest-y finish. The palate is confused.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Best by 7/24/15 date.
A: Light amber with a few dancing lines of bubbles. Huge foamy head.
N: Enormous pine, orange, and pineapple. Hint of grapefruit. Earth floor and fall leaves. Cracker base. Hint of lemon.
T: Quite bitter, light malt, cleanly delineated.
M: Medium body, fizzing carbonation that starts with a noticeable prickle and then dies into a soft nothingness. No alcohol presence.
O: A potent IPA whose name is pretty clear about what youíre going to get. Deschutes continues to produce clean, quality beers, and I, for one, am glad for it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Aroma if chalky pine resin. Flavors are dusty and dry, hinting at resin but never quite landing on it. Thereís a hint of citrus here too. Finishes as quickly as a water cracker.
