This West Coast IPA is like that sweet little Nordic trail off the main trail of Meissner - it takes the high road. Using Pilsner base malt, it is light on malt but not hops. With a hop bill consisting of Amarillo, Centennial, Northern Brewer, and experimental hop X, we packed in the pine along with the citrus notes we love.

Aroma of floral and piney and lightly citrusy hops, some pale and caramel malts, and light dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Murphy's. Good piney aroma. Tan head with large bubbles. Golden color with a hint of copper. Great piney flavor with a hint of sweetness. Malt rounds the hops nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Deschutes brewery. Pours out a golden topped with a white head. Nose holy pine grapefruit pithy and cereal malt. Taste is tons of pine hops and a bitter grapefruit pithy end.

Draft - Sweet pine and leafy. Clearish gold with a rich white head. Lots of pine, like sucking on a cone, light sweet malts and a dry finish. If you like fresh pine, this is it.

"Has the hop strength to convince you it’s a double, just without the alcohol or residual sweetness. Really spot on for what they were going for...pine sap and citrus through and through. Hell, I’m probably low balling this at 4.2. Really nice!"

Clean, mild pine noise. Cloudy pale gold. Excellent lacing. Solid bitter start, mixed with pine. Fades slowly to bittering hops. Moderate carbonation.

Clear light golden pour with white head. Aroma is crisp with citrus and pine. No alcohol detected and fairly light bodied for the abv, crisp, bitter but not overly. Pine, citrus, white bread malt backing. Easy drinking, okay.

As of late I can not find the time to take tasting notes of each beer I sample. I would like to track and record my thoughts of each so I will just use the simple scoring rubric until more time is available.

Draft at SB. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with bright golden brown edges. Creamy light whitish head that sticks around. They’re not kidding about the pine; the nose hits all the pine notes--fresh needles in the forest, fresh cut wood in the shop, and that darker pine resin note. Creamy light body with lively carb. Deep pine notes on the mid palate; well-shown needles and fresh cut soft wood, washed out in a crisp resiny bite on the finish. If you’re building a hop flavor wheel, this is probably your outermost anchor for the pine spoke.
