Sample @ GABF 13. Pours a clear dark golden beer with a medium sized off white head on top. Aroma is slightly yeasty, tart and sour fruits. Flavour is medium sour and medium sweet. Decent mix between a sour and a Belgian quad. Alcohol is well hidden in the flavor. Medium long, sour finish. Decent brew.

Backlog from sour fest. Pours brown with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and tart. Taste is just ok.

on tap at stone sour fest, bold nose, lots of spice to the aroma, taste was too vinegary and hot.

Dark amber in color, clear with a huge fruity sour and barrel aroma. This was pure Sour magic. Great fruity flavors good barrel addition. Get ready this beer will sneak up on you also as it has big alcohol behind it.

A: Like the other Deschutes beer poured at Sour Fest, this one was a fairly clear amber color with very little head or carbonation. S: The nose is fairly bland, but there are some miscellaneous fruit notes (maybe cherries) and a bit of nail polish remover. T: I found the favor to be quite lackluster as well, primarily in the sense that there wasn’t much there. A hint of vinegar sourness and a mild sweetness. Some light malt and fruits, too. M: The body was medium with a decent carbonation to at least prevent this beer from being syrupy or overly slick. D: Not bad like Little Buddha, for example, but not very good/impressive either.

Sample at stone sour fest 2010. Very dark orange pour, off-white head. Fruit, acidic vinegar (like nail polish remover), berries, and funk. I didn’t like it too much.

Growler. Thanks scrizzler. Pours a clear medium amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Nice tart balsamic nose. Creamy medium body. Loose and lively carb. Balsamic, oak and a bit of lemon on the mid palate. Mild tart finish. Delicious.

Nice pinot, funky lactic and poopy nose, tart fruit, somewhat citric, still some nice quad notes as well. Pours amber, lightly hazy orange hues, thin head, nice lace. Woody oak barrel notes, pinot noir, lightly tannic, nice quad underneath of solid barrel funk, lactic, and woody tartness. Solid and enjoyable. Very drinkable @ this abv. Nice.

Growler brought back from PDX, thanks scrizzz. Pours a clear bright orangey copper with a small tight white head. Tart vinous blend of red and white grapes, some bubblegum and banana esters. Tart white and red grapes, hints of candi sugar, light esters, some oakey vanilla...smooth an abv is well hidden. Nice that the quad still comes out here. Thanks clint!
